Confirmation Ministry

2009-2010

Worship
Youth are expected to be in worship each week. 18 worship reports are required each year to complete our confirmation program. Regular attendance in worship by both parents and youth is an essential aspect of our confirmation ministry.

Wednesday Evenings
St. Andrew Lutheran Church from 7-8:30 pm. One of our leaders will present the topic of the evening followed by the kids gathering in small groups that are comprised of 5-6 youth with one trained adult leader.

Parents are expected to attend the first 15 minutes each Wednesday evening. We will review last week’s theme/material and overview the current lesson.

Our focus this year is Living Lutheran. Within the large and small group times youth will encounter the loving and forgiving God of scripture. Styles of learning will include skits, songs, presentations, service, and discussion.

Daily Five
Five minutes a day sharing highs/lows, scripture, prayer, blessing with parents and kids.

Service Ministry
There will be opportunities for service events through out the year.

Monthly social events

Camp

June 13- 18 Faith Works ministry camp St. Paul, Minnesota

Parents and Adults

As our confirmation ministry is a partnership between the congregation and parents it is only natural that parents and adults are involved in different aspects of this ministry. Parents’ participation is vital in assuring the success of this ministry. Besides the “daily five” areas of participation include but are not limited to; Small group leader, Fellowship team, retreat participant, driver, tech support.

Cost

There is a $30 registration fee that covers the cost of the Wednesday program. There will be costs for some of the fellowship events, retreats and camp. If at anytime cost becomes an issue please contact one of the Pastors as there are scholarships available.
